April Workman’s lifelong connection to golf began before she could walk, learning the game from her father, legendary Coach John Fields. Growing up immersed in the sport, April competed at the high school and collegiate levels, playing Division II golf at St. Edward’s University.
After earning her degree in biochemistry, April pursued a successful career in investment banking, holding roles at Wells Fargo and Merrill Lynch. Her expertise expanded during her time with Benchmark Hospitality, where she contributed to development, legal, and finance initiatives, and at Garden of Life, where she excelled in sales and client relations for six years in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry.
In July 2023, April transitioned to the College World Golf Championships Foundation, Inc. (CWGCF), where she played a pivotal role in establishing the organization’s infrastructure and advancing its mission. As Executive Director, April applies her diverse skill set to manage the Foundation’s daily operations, cultivate sponsorships, foster donor relationships, and oversee tournament coordination and logistics for both the Men’s and Women’s NCAA Division I Golf Championships.
April’s deep passion for golf and commitment to its growth are at the heart of her leadership, as she works to elevate college golf and ensure the long-term success of the Championships.
